I tried my hands at guitar making in the mid 90's to mid-00's in Montreal and befriended many musicians during that time, one of them being a gentleman by the name of Gary Davis . Gary owned two Thompson guitars, and made his living playing them. He said on many occasions that Ted Thompson was a really interesting person to talk with. Their incredible sound, flawless workmanship and elegant simplicity are unmatched. I loved just holding them when I stopped by his place. As the years went by, I recently tried to look up Gary; and like you I stumbled on his obituary. He also passed away from cancer in 2023. Anyways, thanks again for sharing.
